Alvaro Bastidas, Founder
Al worked as a Design Engineer in the bio-metrics industry designing fingerprint scanners and facial recognition devices and won a national award for best design in 2000. After his crash in 2002, his brain injuries caused disabilities that made it impossible to continue his engineering career. His passion for cycling and his desire to save cyclists from the trauma he suffered as a crash victim became his passion. This passion is the driving force behind the founding of Please BE KIND to Cyclists, established in 2007. Please BE KIND's mission is to promote harmony and tolerance between motorists and cyclists through education and awareness programs and provide assistance for those injured in crashes with motor vehicles through the Cyclist Tragedy Assistance Program. |
