Gay Simmons
It is with great sadness that we report the tragic accident that took the life of Gay Simmons on April 17, 2006. Gay was an avid cyclist and while preparing for the MS150 Ride, an Austin to Houston charity fund raiser, she was struck by a motorist.

Michael Argall
Michael Argall, 45, was riding east in the right lane of U.S. 290 at 8:13 a.m. when he was struck from behind by a 2005 Honda Odyssey that was being driven by a Pflugerville resident, the Texas Department of Public Safety said. The driver said she did not see Argall because the rising sun was in her eyes, DPS officials said. Adam Raymond
Danz hit Adam Raymond, 36, of Austin, head-on while rounding a curve on Mount Gainor Road just south of Dripping Springs on March 23, 2007, killing him, a Department of Public Safety report said. Danz’s Dodge Ram 3500 pickup swerved into the middle of the road as he rounded the curve about 6:30 a.m., the report said.

Andrew Runciman
Over the weekend, a cyclist was struck from behind by an SUV while riding on South Lamar. Witnesses say the driver sped off, heartlessly leaving the cyclist, 24-year old Andrew Runciman, on the side of the road. Immediately after the accident, Andrew was taken to Brackenridge and was pronounced dead.

Justin Murphy
January 23 2012 killed The victim is Justin Patrick Murphy, 25, who was biking on the frontage road of Research Boulevard near Oak Knoll Drive (where’s there’s no bike lane, shoulder, or sidewalk), when he was killed by a Ford F-150, which then typically left the scene.

May 17, 2014 - “John Halsey Fusselman was an avid bicyclist and nature lover,” wrote John’s son, whom is also named John Fusselman. “He loved God, his wife, his son and the great outdoors. He died doing what he loved! Please keep riding and be safe!”
